Corvinus University of Budapest​

Corvinus University is the leading higher education institution in Hungary, offering instruction in business, economics, humanities, law, public administration and social sciences. Founded in 1920, originally as Karl Marx University, it is home to over 14,000 students. Its Hungarian students go through a rigorous academic selection while its international students come from over 80 countries around the world. The university provides full degree programs in English at both undergraduate and graduate levels. 
The Pest Campus is located in the heart of Budapest and embraces the old and the modern with three buildings on the bank of the Danube. The neighborhood of the university features the Grand Market Hall, and has many of Budapest’s historic and cultural sites within walking distance.

Things To Do


  • Budapest is known for all their ruin cafes, they all have an old school and vintage vibe. My favorite is Szatyor cafe on the Buda side, they have temporary exhibitions upstairs to promote local artist. The most famous one is Szimpla Kert.
  • Do a free tour to the Parliament Castle. It is not only gorgeous but it also has a great historical value to Hungarians.
  • Budapest's Fairy Tale Castle, aka the Vajdahunyad Castle shows the history and evolution of Hungarian architecture.
  • Visit the Margit Island, it's known as the "recreational island", it has the largest open pool in the city, an open theater, running trails and lots of ruins!
  • Don't forget to go to the largest Synagogue in Europe, the Great Synagogue! Also known as the Dohány Street Synagogue, this is a temple for Jews that was build on 1854. It's also the largest synagogue in Europe and the fifth largest in the whole world!
  • Hike the Gellert Hill to get the best view of Pest and to see the Citadella up close.
  • Try authenthic and delicious Hungarian food at Kisharang Etkezde! A couple traditional dishes are paprika chicken and goulash.
  • A common and super cool place for students to hangout is the Taskaradio Eszpresszo 
  • Be a local and support the locals by getting your groceries from the Lehel Food Market
  • Get your shopping on at the Buda's Mega Mall!
  • Take the "underground" (Metro 1) since it's the third oldest railway in the entire world! You can also take tram 2 for a beautiful view of the Danube and the Buda side of the city.
